How to wrap the text in a cell in Discover

Word wrap has been added as a formatting option for all parts of the grid visualization. This option allows end users to include long text items in grid visualizations, extending the core use case for grids from purely analytical capabilities to listings and table-style reporting.

  1. Open a grid report in Discover
By default, when you adjust the size of the column the column header wraps automatically, however when you decrease the column size for rows of data by default the data in the row is truncated.
In order to implement text wrapping go to the new formatting zone and select the rows option and then check the box to Wrap Text.

  2. Component Menu > Format Visual

  3. In Format Visual Menu, select rows, and check the box for “wrap text”

  4. The data now wraps automatically.

Is there any way to wrap the text for only one field instead of doing it for all the fields?

There isn't. Although, it the row expands to wrap for one field, it expends for all items in the row. It will look a little strange for some to wrap and others to be cut-off or ellipsis.

I still think it makes sense. Say, there's a grid and its contents are: Invoice Number, Invoice Status, Line Item Number, Billing Date, Customer Id, Remarks, Sales and Quantity.

In this case, all the other columns may just require normal column width, while the "Remarks" field requires more space, since in this column Customer/Admin will add the descriptive details of any notes, comments, addresses or anything. It can contain HTML tags with smiley characters in it. With this setup, I would need only this "Remarks"' field to be wrapped up.

You can customize the width of each column - so you can stretch/shrink each column so it doesn't wrap. So your issue is not a problem IMO.

       I have a scenario.

In my case, there are multiple fields that can be labeled as "Notes" or "Remarks." For your reference, I have attached a screenshot of sample data containing two such fields: Remarks-1 and Remarks-2, both typically containing over 100-200 words of text.

When I drag and drop these fields into the matrix chart, Pyramid Analytics automatically allocates the column width based on the content. As a result, the scroll bar becomes very small. Manually resizing the width for two fields is already challenging, and in my actual scenario, there are multiple such fields in the grid. This is why I am requesting a field-wise width resizing option.
