Discontinued support for EOL operating systems and databases 2024

Various operating systems and technologies are out of support or nearing end of life (EOL). In tandem, Pyramid will start to drop official support for them.

Operating Systems

  • Windows 2012 reached end of life in October 10, 2023. Consequently, the final version of Pyramid that will support Windows 2012 will be Pyramid 2023.12 (not yet released). Customers should already be making plans to migrate off this Windows version.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and CentOS 7 are set to be out of support in June 2024. While we plan to support them beyond their EOL date, customers should start planning to migrate off them.
  • Ubuntu 16 and 18 are both out of standard support. While we plan to support them beyond their support dates until their official EOL dates, customers should start planning to migrate off them.

We anticipate adding support for newer operating systems in the next few releases, this includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, Oracle Linux 9, Ubuntu 24 and Amazon 2023.

Repository Databases

The discontinued support for these database engines relates to them as a repository, NOT as analytical data sources.

MS SQL Server

  • SQL 2012 reached end of life in Jul 12th 2022. Consequently, the final version of Pyramid that will support SQL 2012 will be Pyramid 2023.12 (not yet released). Customers should already be making plans to migrate off this SQL version.
  • SQL 2014 will reach end of life later this year. While we plan to support it beyond its EOL date, customers should start planning to migrate off it as well.

PostgreSQL

  • Postgres SQL 11 reached end of life in November 9th 2023. Consequently, the final version of Pyramid that will support Postgres SQL will be Pyramid 2023.12 (not yet released). Customers should already be making plans to migrate off this Postgres SQL version.
  • Postgres SQL 12 will reach end of life later this year. While we plan to support it beyond its EOL date, customers should start planning to migrate off it as well.

Oracle Database

  • Oracle 10c reached end of life in June 30th 2021. Consequently, the final version of Pyramid that will support Oracle 10c database will be Pyramid 2023.12 (not yet released). Customers should already be making plans to migrate off this Oracle version.
