How to share Pyramid Reports and Dashboards in Microsoft Teams
The easier Users can get access to information, the better. One way to bring Data to End Users it to integrate it into internal communication platforms like Teams.
Thank you to our Community Member Ove Sandau to share this
So,
How can you share Pyramid Reports and Dashboards in Microsoft Teams
- Choose the Team where you want to add new Channel with the Report or Dashboard. Choose the + Sign to add content.

- Select Website and then Name the Channel and paste the URL of your Pyramid Environent into the Field.

- Now your Channel has direct Access to your full Pyramid Content.

- If you want to show a particular Report or Dashboard in the Channel, please access the Asset in the CMS and Copy the link as shown here:

- Proceed as above and copy the Link into the Channel. Now you have the Asset directly in the Channel.
Note: The content will be accessed with the credentials of the end-user accessing the linked content, which may require an initial login

Website tab opening in external browser? Check X-Frame-Options / CSP policies
Hi everyone,
Regarding the solution mentioned above for websites opening in an external browser instead of inside the Teams window, I would like to highlight a very common root cause: Website Security and Framing Policies.
Even if your Teams settings are perfectly configured, many modern websites actively prevent themselves from being embedded inside other applications (like Microsoft Teams) to protect against clickjacking attacks. They do this by using HTTP headers such as
X-Frame-Options(set toDENYorSAMEORIGIN) or strictContent-Security-Policy(CSP) directives. When Teams encounters these headers, it has no choice but to bypass the inline frame and force-open the link in your default external browser.
- If it's an internal/corporate site: You will need to reach out to your IT infrastructure or web development team to request an update to the server's framing policies to allow Microsoft Teams.
- If it's a public third-party site: Unfortunately, if the external webmasters block framing, there is no workaround from the Teams side, and it will always open externally.
That's exactly what happens with our Pyramid installation (self-hosted). I'm not sure to what extent it's possible and/or practical to modify the Pyramid site's code. At the latest when we upgrade Pyramid, any changes would have to be reapplied. Or is there a way to configure the policy to be disabled for Teams?
Best regards,
Michael
