This is indeed exciting news! I can clearly see the added value this brings to the existing ServiceNow portfolio, so from that perspective, the acquisition makes perfect sense.
At the same time, I suspect that this will mean the end of Pyramid Analytics as an independent analytics platform in the medium term. The customers I serve are likely too small for a ServiceNow solution to make sense for them. And I can't imagine that ServiceNow has any interest in continuing to offer Pyramid Analytics as a standalone product, let alone developing it further. It is disappointing to see such a powerful analytics solution being absorbed and, in all likelihood, phased out.
What do you think? Will you still be managing projects with Pyramid in a year or two? And would you still recommend Pyramid to a prospective customer today?
