Maps in Pyramid

Hi, I am struggling to create a map at a region level for kenya, there is region level data in the model as you can see in the first snip below, however when I try to use this data to build a map at a region level, it does not work, I don't think pyramid has the regions for Kenya. Has anyone had any luck with creating a map for a smaller country that pyramid perhaps may not have region info for?

Snip one, regions are in the model

Snip 2: map no longer works correctly if I try adding on region to split it by region

The maps will not show your regions unless these names and locations are globally understood designations.  For example, it will understand the state of "California", but it will not understand something called "Coast".

If you have a custom set of regions and their matching geospatial shapes, you can use the custom mapping option to show the items in a map, in which case you can show whatever you want.

    See here: https://help.pyramidanalytics.com/Content/Root/AdminClient/Geospatial/Custom%20Maps.htm

    Hi James

You can find the custom geospatial shapes that you may require here.

    https://data.humdata.org/dataset/cod-ab-ken?

    thanks

    Hi

You'll actually need geojson files to import the map shapes into Pyramid. Use this page instead:

    https://data.humdata.org/dataset/geoboundaries-admin-boundaries-for-kenya?

Go to the admin console and choose GeoSpatial settings and import the file. Rename the imported table and caption if you wish i identify the column to use to look up the administrative boundary name / code / etc. In this example I've used the Admin 1 boundaries geojson file:

I then used a table of admin 1 level names and area to build a simple model and linked the admin column name to the Kenya Level 1 map type:

then a simple query showing the area of each district.

    Hope that helps!

    Ian
