Publication | Report Triggers | Matrix vs Tabular Grid

We are needing to use Report Triggers on a publication that has Tabular Grids. 

Is there a reason that a Report Trigger will work with a Matrix grid and not a Tabular grid?

    Hi  ,

    The rather crass answer is that it isn't supported.

    A slightly more considered answer is that a tabular grid isn't really a grid. There is no concept of row labels in a Tabular Grid, it is simply a list of records divided into columns.

    In your example above, you are referring to label(1,0,0), which means go to the Row Axis and get the zero placed value for the zero placed row dimension, i.e. Australia.  In a tabular Grid, there is no "Row Axis", so it cannot be referenced. Hence Tabular Grids are not supported for Dynamic Text processing.

    Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it.

    We have found a work around where we use the Tabular grid on the publication and create a smaller Matrix grid that we use for the trigger.
