Variable List Measure, of a Variable List Measure

Some of our colleagues demo'd a dashboard where they had two parameters, one of which drove the visual i.e. a variable measure.

They had 4 groups of measures, profit, reserving, claims and premium. The first parameter showed these measures and depending on what they selected i.e. profit then the second parameter would show a set of measures the user could select, so rather than having one parameter with 12 measures , they had 2 parameters with 4 sets of 3.

How would I go about doing this? I tried with a basic version, but I can't get that to work, see below?

    Hi Nicholas,

    You're nearly there!

Create a Global Parameter set as discrete options and add the text and returning value you need:

Create a dynamic list, using the Switch function an the global variable. For each switch option add a Measure list of the measures you want to group into that option:

Create a Parameter and use the dynamic list created above to populate the Parameter:

Select the Parameter for your report:

    Hope that helps.
