Dynamic Function for Total Year

Hi PA-Team,

We currently use a formula that recognises the current month and year based on the current date and then outputs the entire year (e.g. January 2025, February 2025, ..., December 2025). In other words, all months from January to December. However, the formula (written in MDX) is still very static.

I would like to link it to our calendar dimension and thus make it filterable within dashboards. Here we use the year and the month.

The year dimension is called in German [Kalender].[Jahre].[KJ Jahr] or, as an example for 2025, [Kalender].[Jahre].[KJ Jahr].&[2025].
The month dimension is called in German [Kalender].[Perioden].[KJ Monat Im Jahr] or, for example, for January, [Kalender].[Perioden].[KJ Monat Im Jahr].&[Januar]

Can someone help me out here?

Best regards,

Jona

    Hi

The MDX code you provided is a SET (or a list if it was a Pyramid Model).
Where is this code put to use? Is it inside the cube? or in Pyramid Formulate? We need some more context here

      Hi

it is a list, not part of the cube, and it is maintained in Pyramid Formulate.

We mainly use this logic for visual purposes. With the list, we either display all months of the year (in German: „Gesamtjahr“) or the last 13 months on a rolling basis (in German: „Rollierend“). The selection can be switched via the dynamic button in the top right corner.

For the rolling last 13 months („Rollierend“), we already have the following dynamic function (list) in place.

Please let me know if you need any further details.

      Thank you & kind Regards,

      Jona
