2 elements in 1 minitab

I'd like to add 2 charts per minitab. Is that possible? When I am adding the first chart into my present minitab it auto fills the space; not allowing me to add another chart. I also tried adding a scrollable panel within the minitab, which I was unable to do.

No, you cannot. It's not what it was designed for.

    Hi

When I ran into this requirement, what I did is:

    1. I created 2 minitab elements, put in each one the number of mini tabs I needed (say 3)

    2. I created a global parameter with the same number (3).

    3. I set 2 actions switching the minitabs in both elements based on that parameter.

    4. I changed the minitab settings to hide the tab names.

For the user, the experience is one click switches a few visuals simultaneously.

    Cheers

It all makes sense until (I set 2 actions switching the minitabs in both elements based on that parameter.)

How did you do that? Any chance you can post a screen capture.

       Here:
I have a parameter called switch with 3 values. I am adding actions:

adding action to switch 3 tabs in the first mini tab element:

      the second:

      and the third:

      I hope this helps.

once you do that - the switch parameter switches between elements in all minitabs.

      regards

I have placed an example of the approach described by Moshe here on our Explore server environment.

within the dashboard you will find 2 mini tabs, mini-tab 1 contains to discovers and mini-tab2 contains a map and a trellised pie chart.

the global parameter on the dashboard contains the following entries, this parameter has then been placed into the present canvas

to link the parameter to swap the relevant tab on the two mini tabs, we will go back to the present canvas

On the parameter go to the 'Actions' context menu

here you can then setup the relevant actions for each mini tab to tie the parameter to a tab on both of the mini tabs as below

you could hide the tabs (if required), running the present and interacting with the parameter will then swap between the tabs on the individual mini tabs.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Mark
