Allow microphone use in a browser or mobile app

Hello Community,

When using the chatbot, clicking on the microphone icon produces the following error message:

Unable to access your microphone. Make sure that your microphone is enabled in the browser.

This is in any browser, and on iPad - Safari and in Pyramid mobile app. In browser settings, I allowed access to the mic for all sites and the pyramid instance. Still, no luck. Did anybody run into the same problem?

This has nothing to do with Pyramid. It's your browser and its settings (see help for the details).  It may also be corporate rules and policies.

In Chrome (and other browsers) you can right click on the URL and explicitly give your browser the right to use different things, including the microphone. The audio option does not work in the Pyramid app on a tablet and there is no chatbot in the mobile.  If you access the tablet version in a browser natively, it will work as described above.

, thanks for your response! Here is my browser settings:

I allowed ALL websites access to Microphone. The computer is not on any corporate networks, so no policies are at play. Also, I'd like to emphasize that I tried it with different browsers, on different computers and on an iPad with the same result. The only common component is the same pyramid instance. What am I missing?

Is the site using a valid SSL certificate for secure comms via HTTPS? The browsers will block the microphone without it.

, Spot on! Implementing SSL is on our to do list. Makes perfect sense! Thanks a lot for the pointer.
