Welcome to the Community - Introduce Yourself!

Hi Everyone, my name is Angelie Janssen and I am your new community manager for the Pyramid Analytics Community. I am very excited in this new role and to connect with you all
I believe that a good connection starts with sharing a little about yourself ā where you come from, what you do, and what you enjoy outside of work. So let me start by introducing myself!
I am based in the US, and currently reside in Utah. I have been in the analytics space since 2005, and have been with Pyramid Analytics since 2020 in both pre and post sales capacity. In the last 2 years, I have been focused on developing courses for our customers in the LMS, and working with our partners.
Outside of work, I like to spend most of my time outdoors hiking, snowboarding, running, cycling, and checking things off my list like skydiving or get my husband and friends to do challenging treks in the mountains. I also like to read and travel, and for the most part, spend time with our dogs.
I look forward to interacting with you all in this community weāre building together. Working with our customers and looking for ways to enhance user experience in the community is my priority from here on out. So please donāt hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, questions, and your awesome ideas to make this community better than it already is.
Letās keep this thread going ā please do a quick introduction! I am excited to hear from all of you, and learn more about what you do, your experiences and unique stories in this thread
PS: 10 people will be chosen randomly to get some Pyramid Analytics swag!

Woohoo! Super excited about this new chapter in our Community!
Canāt wait to hear from our amazing Pyramid users and all things Pyramid.
Iām Sandra, and work as an e-learning developerāwhich basically means I build the courses you see in the Learning Hub! I work alongside Angelie and a fantastic team of Pyramid gurus who bring you all the interesting, useful, and technical content you find there.
Always happy to hear your thoughts on how we can improve and help you thrive!
Letās make this space awesome together! -
Alright, let me be the first to introduce myself from the folks on the other side of the Nileā¦
Iām Micha, from near Cologne, Germany, and Iāve been working as an IT consultant for 27 years. Most of that time (16 years!) has been with Cologne Intelligence, and most of it has revolved around "Business Intelligence" - or as it's now called, "Advanced Analytics."
Iāve worked extensively with SAP Business Objects, but also with MicroStrategy, Tableau, and various mobile solutions. I found "Roambi" pretty cool - until it, like XCelsius before it, got swallowed up by SAP and eventually vanished from the market...
But now we have Pyramid! Iāve been using Pyramid since early 2022, and fun fact: Tomorrow marks exactly three years since I joined this forum! Woohoo!
I was lucky enough to be involved from the very beginning in rolling out a new reporting platform for one of our customersāa cheeky little subsidiary of a big, magenta-colored telecommunications provider. (Spoiler: They chose Pyramid Analytics!) I got to support the entire journey, from market research to PoC, go-live, and user training. Itās also fascinating because this customer is big on DDC and self-service, which means weāre dealing with quite a few cultural shifts as well.
I really like this forum, even though itās usually pretty quiet around here. I often try to answer questions before and get to them, because the challenges people bring up are usually super interesting (sometimes outright crazy) and solving them is great practice. Youād think after three years youāve seen it allābut nope, not even close.
Oh, and secretly, Iām hoping that answering forum questions will earn me a free pass on the Level 3 certification. Iāve been putting that off for so long that and will probably soon say, "Too late, Mr. Daun, weāve introduced a whole new certification path..."
And otherwise? 55 years old, married, two kids (16 & 20), two and a half cats, and a ā77 VW camper van thatās currently at the welderās getting some much-needed TLC. I love spending time outside in the garden, and since running has become too exhausting, Iāve taken to long-distance hikes. Walking around Cologne is about 60 km, doable in 11 hours. And with my company, weāve taken part in several 100-km marches. Those take closer to 24 hoursāand after that, you actually start looking forward to model mappings and custom columns again.
Cheers,
Micha -

Hello all!
I joined Pyramid in 2023 and currently run Customer Success & Professional Services. I've been in the data and analytics field for longer than I care to admit. I've had the good fortune of working with many types of organizations over the years using many different technologies. I really enjoy the variety and it's certainly never boring!
I also get to work with a fantastic group of colleagues and clients everyday. Our technology is great but our people are absolutely first rate!
In my spare time I pretend to be a rock star, dabble in photography and am somewhat interested is sports (OK I'm a self-avowed college hoops junkie and my wife says she's a football widow at times).
Looking forward to connecting here!

Hi Everyone,
My name is Matt Dove and I manage the consultancy team here at Pyramid. I joined back at the start of 2021 coming from a Pyramid partner to join the consultancy team. I have had a few "hats" while working here but the one thing that has never changed is a passion for helping Pyramid clients achieve success.
In my spare time I'm a keen archer and music fan.
Happy to help anyone with any question, but be warned... I love discussing dashboards
.

Hi Pyramid Community,
Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself! My name is Mark Oldfield, and I'm the Global Architect on the Customer Success team here at Pyramid Analytics. I'm coming up on my six-year anniversary with the company this year!
I've been working with data for most of my IT career ā over 30 years now. My early days involved things like SQL Server 4.21 and dBase III, so yes, I'm officially old school (lol!). It's amazing how far things have come.
Away from the keyboard, I'm married, and we've got two grown sons (22 and 21) at home, plus a pair of feisty Dachshunds named Poppy and Nelly who keep things lively.
In my downtime, I love unwinding with video games (a passion since my Commodore VIC-20 days!) and also enjoy dabbling in watercolor painting.
Great to be part of this community, and I look forward to interacting with you all!
Cheers,
Mark

Hello Pyramid Family,
Iām excited to officially introduce myself here in the Pyramid Community. My name is Alex Torti, and Iāve been with Pyramid for just over three years now, covering the New England region. Itās been an incredible rideāsome of the best years of my career, honestly.
When I first joined Pyramid, I was brand new to the world of data and analytics. I didnāt come from a traditional BI background, and I had no idea what an OLAP cube was or why semantic models mattered. Fast forward to today, and Iāve had the privilege of helping organizations across industries transform the way they think about dataāfrom self-service analytics to enterprise-scale deployments.
What makes Pyramid special to me is how it blends technical depth with ease of use and real-world business impact. Iāve learned so much from our customers, our team, and this platformāand Iām looking forward to giving back to the community that helped me grow.
Looking forward to engaging more here, sharing stories, and learning from all of you!
Cheers,
Alex Torti
Director of Sales, New England

Hey Everyone!
