Welcome to the Community - Introduce Yourself!

Hi Everyone, my name is Angelie Janssen and I am your new community manager for the Pyramid Analytics Community.  I am very excited in this new role and to connect with you all 😊

I believe that a good connection starts with sharing a little about yourself – where you  come from, what you do, and what you enjoy outside of work.  So let me start by introducing myself!

I am based in the US, and currently reside in Utah.  I have been in the analytics space since 2005, and have been with Pyramid Analytics since 2020 in both pre and post sales capacity.  In the last 2 years, I have been focused on developing courses for our customers in the LMS, and working with our partners.

Outside of work, I like to spend most of my time outdoors hiking, snowboarding, running, cycling, and checking things off my list like skydiving or get my husband and friends to do challenging treks in the mountains.  I also like to read and travel, and for the most part, spend time with our dogs.

I look forward to interacting with you all in this community we’re building together.  Working with our customers and looking for ways to enhance user experience in the community is my priority from here on out.  So please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, questions, and your awesome ideas to make this community better than it already is.

Let’s keep this thread going – please do a quick introduction!  I am excited to hear from all of you, and learn more about what you do, your experiences and unique stories in this thread 😊

PS: 10 people will be chosen randomly to get some Pyramid Analytics swag!

Woohoo! Super excited about this new chapter in our Community! 🎉

Can’t wait to hear from our amazing Pyramid users and all things Pyramid.

I’m Sandra, and work as an e-learning developer—which basically means I build the courses you see in the Learning Hub! I work alongside Angelie and a fantastic team of Pyramid gurus who bring you all the interesting, useful, and technical content you find there.

Always happy to hear your thoughts on how we can improve and help you thrive!

Let’s make this space awesome together! 💗

Alright, let me be the first to introduce myself from the folks on the other side of the Nile…

I’m Micha, from near Cologne, Germany, and I’ve been working as an IT consultant for 27 years. Most of that time (16 years!) has been with Cologne Intelligence, and most of it has revolved around "Business Intelligence" - or as it's now called, "Advanced Analytics."

I’ve worked extensively with SAP Business Objects, but also with MicroStrategy, Tableau, and various mobile solutions. I found "Roambi" pretty cool - until it, like XCelsius before it, got swallowed up by SAP and eventually vanished from the market...

But now we have Pyramid! I’ve been using Pyramid since early 2022, and fun fact: Tomorrow marks exactly three years since I joined this forum! Woohoo! 🎉

I was lucky enough to be involved from the very beginning in rolling out a new reporting platform for one of our customers—a cheeky little subsidiary of a big, magenta-colored telecommunications provider. (Spoiler: They chose Pyramid Analytics!) I got to support the entire journey, from market research to PoC, go-live, and user training. It’s also fascinating because this customer is big on DDC and self-service, which means we’re dealing with quite a few cultural shifts as well.

I really like this forum, even though it’s usually pretty quiet around here. I often try to answer questions before and get to them, because the challenges people bring up are usually super interesting (sometimes outright crazy) and solving them is great practice. You’d think after three years you’ve seen it all—but nope, not even close.

Oh, and secretly, I’m hoping that answering forum questions will earn me a free pass on the Level 3 certification. I’ve been putting that off for so long that and will probably soon say, "Too late, Mr. Daun, we’ve introduced a whole new certification path..."

And otherwise? 55 years old, married, two kids (16 & 20), two and a half cats, and a ‘77 VW camper van that’s currently at the welder’s getting some much-needed TLC. I love spending time outside in the garden, and since running has become too exhausting, I’ve taken to long-distance hikes. Walking around Cologne is about 60 km, doable in 11 hours. And with my company, we’ve taken part in several 100-km marches. Those take closer to 24 hours—and after that, you actually start looking forward to model mappings and custom columns again.

    Cheers,
    Micha

I love seeing your posts in the community, we truly appreciate you for helping as much as you can, and taking part in the community!  It sounds like you've seen this whole industry evolve...and been a part of some interesting implementations, and if you are willing to, we would love to showcase anything that you think the community might benefit learning from!

...we may not be able to give you a pass to a Level 3 cert, but I do have a feeling you'd have fun flexing your Pyramid skills once you dive into it ;)  Besides, you would wear the "level 3" badge with pride and belong to an Elite group of Pyramid users/nerds/or whatever else you want to call them!

I am a fellow long distance hiker/endurance sports fanatic and I sure know how those things make you feel sometimes...you may even come up with modeling alternatives in your head just so you can distract yourself from the grind :)

Cheers Micha, thanks for sticking with us and being a part of this community! ðŸŽ‰

    Hi everyone!

I'm Chris and have had the pleasure of working at Pyramid Analytics for almost 4 years now. I wear many hats here at Pyramid, including leading an amazing team that includes the Community, LMS, Events, Enablement, Customer Stories, Video Testimonials and more!

I am based in NY and in my free time you will find me in a photo studio (dabbling in commercial photography) or riding one of my motorcycles - in fact be sure to check out my LinkedIn page to watch an episode (or all of them) of the Pyramid Analytics Motorcycle Diaries, where you will see me riding around the countryside on my motorcycle, as a I chat about something of interest around analytics.

Super excited to meet you all - let's make this an amazing community!
