Hiding an item from the legend?
Hi I have a couple of items in a Discovery which are there to support the chart structure but shouldn't be in the legend, can i prevent them from showing?
One is the bottom layer of a stacked area chart, it has no fill and is there to shape the bottom of the area measure above it:
And the other is vanity really, the dashed yellow line has an identical measure as solid white line behind it to help dashes 'pop' when intersecting other items, so "Fx_DepLeedsWhite" isn't needed in the legend.
Any ideas please? maybe I've gone about the area chart wrongly anyway? cheers!

Hi Adam,
You can hide the legend entirely, but not just part of it.
Is the intended destination of this discovery to be on a dashboard in Present?
If so, when you put the View on the Dashboard you can just pick up the chart without the legend from the Discover View. If you need a legend without the supporting items, duplicate the View, remove the supporting items and save it, then take the legend from the View without supporting items and put it on the dashboard instead of the original.
Might work!
Hope that helps.

Hi Ian ok I've tried this, I have a duplicate version of the Discovery with the supporting items removed, it has the same colours applied to the pertinent items as the "real" discovery. When I drag the legend onto a Presentation it reverts to default colourings which do not match the chart, if I drag the duplicate chart onto the Presentation then the legend colours are corrected. As soon as I remove the dupe chart the legend changes back to default colouring. I've tried making some interaction links to the legend but this hasn't prevented it from reverting. Something about the Discovery perhaps?

I got around this by having a small version of the duplicate chart sent to Back behind the real chart, so the new legend keeps the correct colours. messy but it works!
