Rename an element?
A quick question, and quite possibly something I have overlooked, but, is it possible to do an ad-hoc renaming of specific members within a hierarchy, in a fashion similar to altering the caption associated to a column name via its right click properties in discovery?

Hi Dave,
No, not in the same way. The reason is that the names of the members of a hierarchy are, in fact, the data coming from your underlying table. So you would effectively be altering the data in an adhoc fashion.
What you could do, if you ae using Pyramid 2023, is to create a Custom Column, based on the column that contains the value you want to change, testing for that value and changing it to whatever you wanted, then use that new attribute instead.

Ian, thanks for confirming my suspicions!
One thing I did arrive at was to create a custom member which was in essence exactly the same, but saved with the name I wanted....a very long winded workaround.
