Creating/displaying global slicers in present

We have started converting content from BI Office to Pyramid and I haven't been able to find clear instructions on how/if global slicers work in presentations. I have set up slicers that operate on multiple slides using targets, however, from a User Experience perspective this is problematic because the slicers are only visible on the original slide. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to have these slicers appear on every slide so that users can easily see the current selections and do not need to go back to a single slide every time they want to make a selection?

What I've found is that once you add a slicer to the presentation is shows up in the Slicers area (for me, on the right side of the screen by Targets).  Then on your second slide you should be able to drag and drop that slicer onto that slide from the Slicers area.  With my (very light) testing things seem to behave in the "global slicer" way you are after.  If that works, you should be able to eliminate some of the use of Targets.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! That does help and seems to solve the problem. We will experiment more with this. Out of curiosity, did you find that out via trial and error, or did you find it in documentation somewhere?

Laura Kehoe I think it was something I stumbled into while trying to figure out something else.

    Hi Laura and Nate,

In Present, slicers added to a slide are also added to the Slicers panel of all other slides in the presentation. From there, they may be dragged onto the slide, or they can be configured as hidden slicers (slicers which appear within the Presentation menu, rather than on the slide itself).

This is different to Targets, which are used to cross-filter various types of visuals across different slides.

If a slide’s Slicer panel contains slicers that won’t be connected to any visuals on that slide, just de-select the slicer.

Thanks very much for your question; we will be sure to add a clear explanation of this item to the documentation.
