Changing the background or font of 1 cell

I have a table jam packed with information, but I need 1 cell (in my case it is a specific element within a dimension) to have a red background. How do I go about doing that?

Hi  , I know in tabulate there is a feature to highlight a specific cell but are you planning to do this in tabulate or discovery? Also, if you can provide further context as to why you want to only format one cell that would be much appreciated.

I am also aware you can do conditional formatting for a range of values by selecting a gradient or a color scale in the color logic. Please keep me updated so I can better assist you.

It's within discovery. I have employees who need to highlight a specific product (dimensions name). As of now I can change the measures under that dimension, but not the dimension element itself.

If you want specific dimensions to be highlighted in discovery, take a look at my image below for drop zones. You will need to have dimension and copy to color as well as columns. Once you do this, go to the formatting panel and you will be able to manually change the color for each dimension, that way you can highlight a specific dimension. Hope this helps!

using yours an example, I'd want ONLY Average Defect Target % to be yellow (sorry for the quick and horrible editing! haha)

Did you want something more like this? If so, I used a matrix grid instead of a tabular grid and used the legend setting to change the band color. As a result, I was able to select only one cell for the measure. Let me know if this helps!

No, as I showed, I only want that specific dimension's element "column header" to be colored.

ok, now I fully understand your question. I have my screenshot below as reference.

Essentially, make sure you go into the formatting panel and the two settings you will toggle through is 'Columns' and 'Rows'. Make sure for 'Columns' you turn off the 'column header' check box. Switch to the Row setting, check the "show row header' option, and select the 'Custom' default style. Once you enable this, all the rest of the features will appear to customize this. Select background color as either 'custom' or 'rows' to adjust to your needs as both will work accordingly. The result should show as below where you are making the color different from what is shown in the other column header.

Can you show me where you are choosing that specific color for that specific 'cell'?

It is within the same screenshot. Once you changed default style to 'custom' under rows option, you will see these settings pop-up. Then in order to toggle individual colors you must change row colors and uncheck "show column header".
