Pyramid doesn't recognize addresses

I have 1 column with full addresses; not multiple columns that separate the Street Address, city, postal code, country. When I am modeling the data, the address is recognized as a string. When I try the geocode node, I am asked to identify which column the data is in - which I cannot do because the data is all in the same column.

As well, does it matter how the data is formatted? ie. Some people write postal codes in Canada like (L6A2T3 and others L6A 2T3)

I found this with regard to the postal code, but still not sure how to deal with the fact that all the data is in the same column of my original data. If they were all the same length I could trim them appropriately, but the addresses are all different lengths so trim won't work.
