Publications- One attachment for multiple selections

Hello,

I've got this publication that produces a list of open orders by requestor and year, for this year and the previous year only. To get only the years I need, I've added a list to the discovery used so it only shows the last two years, this gets added to the discovery filters when I select it

Problem is that when sending the publication (emailing from a dynamic list to each Requestor), I choose multiple selections to make it include "All" but I get one email for 2021 orders and a separate one for 2022. I tried changing the filter in the discovery to "combined elements" but it still generates two publications. I'm wondering if there is a way to make it so all years show on one attachment?

    Hi Sophie,

Publish is behaving exactly as expected and designed.

With two slicers attached to the Publication, it will generate a report for each unique combination of slicer values, i.e. with two years defined in one slicer, it will produce two reports for each requestor.

What you need to do is to use the Page Repeater option. Attach the Year slicer to the grid or whatever within the page repeater. This will produce one report for each requestor with the page containing the grid appearing twice  in the report, one for 2021 and one for 2022.

Click on the page repeated for the page containing the analytic view you want to produce for 2021 an 2022.

Create a new slicer or drag the slicer form our discover into the Page Repeater interaction manager and connect it to the grid and any other dynamic object you want to be affected by the slicer value:

At run time, the each report generated will have two pages, one for 2021 and one for 2022. This way your requestor will get one report each with pages relevant to 2021 and 2022.

    Hope that helps.

    Ian

Ian Macdonald Thanks I will try this... I noticed you've exported to pdf format, how would this work with exporting to Excel, would it put each page on a separate sheet?

Exporting to Excel does not replicate the layout of the page, rather it outputs each analytic view on its own sheet.

Thus in the example above, yes, the grids for 2021 and 2022 will appear on separate sheets.
