Present - Runtime Settings on slides, reports

Under Runtime Settings in Present, I see two options: Global-Scope and Slide-Scope.

What do these mean?

I also would like to know if I can apply different runtime settings to different slides in Present, and if so, how. I've tried altering the runtime settings for a Discover report, but all the actions are still available in Present when that report is viewed there.

Hi Jessica, Global-Scope and Slide-Scope are used to choose the querying behavior for multiple instances of the same data discovery across multiple slides. It's only relevant if you have the same data discovery on multiple slides.

If Global-Scope is enabled, then changes (like filtering, slicing, drilling, etc) made to one of these discoveries will automatically be applied to all other instances of that discovery. If you don’t want these updates to be global, choose Slide-Scope. This will ensure that changes made to one of these discoveries will not affect instances of that same discovery on other slides.

As for your second question, it’s not possible to apply different runtime settings to different slides. And runtime settings cannot be propagated from Discover to Present; instead, they are configured separately in each module.

    Hope that helps!

Ruby Mitchell Thank you; that was helpful! I've got a set of slides with some different discovery reports in them, and my data owners want to disable drill downs and drillthrough actions for some of the reports but not all of them - sounds like that is just not possible.

Thank you again for your comment!
