Authentication by Azure Active Directory (AAD)

Dear Pyramid,

on behalf of my company's system admin I would like to ask the following question:

Are there any plans to support native Azure Active Directory Authentication using Microsofts Identityprovider login.microsoftonline.com so that we can take adventage of SSO, risk detection and conditional access policies such as MFA?

The current Pyramid implementation with the usage of LDAP is limited in its functionality and has a lack in terms of security. In addition it requires the customer to use AAD DS with active password hash synchronization.

Thanks for your kind answer in advance.

Best regards
Markus Loy

The system supports AD (Native and Azure), SAML (which you can use from Azure too) and LDAP (almost any type). You can also build your own security layer using the APIs.

If you want another type of authentication mechanism you can put it into the ideas section. You should be very specific, there are multiple authentication engines in Azure. Its not 1 thing.

Support for OpenID (from Azure or elsewhere) was added in 2020.20
