Enhance Profile Configuration Options

Hi PA-Team!

I request to expand the Pro user profile configuration options within the Model module of Pyramid BI (Admin Console > Access > Profiles).

Currently, we can only manage a limited set of functions available to users when creating/editing models.
I would like to have the ability to control access (available/unavailable) to any element within the model editing mode through user profiles.

For example, to configure a profile so that users do not have access to a specific Relational Source if it is not selected as available in that profile.

This enhancement would allow us to manage user access to data sources more flexibly.

    Managing and securing access to a data source is already handled through data source management.

    Profiles have nothing to do with data access - they control functional access.

       Hi!

      This feature request is not about data access, but is a direct request to enhance the functional control within Profiles, which is perfectly aligned with their purpose.

      Currently, in a Profile, we can either enable or disable the "ability to add new data sources" as a single function.

      Our request is to extend this existing profile capability. Instead of a single on/off switch, we would like to have a checklist of data source types (like SQL Server, Oracle, etc.). This would allow an administrator to configure a profile where a user, for example, is permitted to add new SQL Server sources but is functionally blocked from adding new Oracle sources.

      This provides better governance over what technologies our Pro users can connect to when building new models, without completely removing their ability to add approved data sources.

      I hope this clarifies that our request is about extending functional access control, not data access. Could you please re-evaluate it in this context?
