Colouring different parts of a dynamic text sentence.

As per the above mentioned, is it possible to colour different sections of a sentence that are based entirely on dynamic text - or made in the dynamic text editor?

Making a sentence out of dyanmic text is very helpful as when there is no data to show I can get the 'dynamic' segment to show no text whatsoever.  However, when there should be something to show and I have created dynamic text from a mixture of formula and strings or words to piece the sentence together, pyramid doesnt seem to let you highlight or colour certain key elements within that 'dynamic' segment.

Hopefully the two pictures help to illustrate the problem I have.  The picture with all blue font is made in the dynamic text editor amalgamating two dynamic text sections with other words.  I want this to display like the picture with grey and blue font that is partly made via dynamic text (words in blue) and by also bolting on static text next to it.  The whole point being that I want the entire sentence to be formatted in that multicoloured way but to also be dynamic in that when there is no data it disappears.

Thanks

Dan

In version 10, we introduced a set of Markup functions for Dynamic Text so you have lots of control over how the text looks.  The function you want to use is called FontFormat (LINK).  It allows you to add color to any element of the text.

    Here is an example:

You will see in my example I am using the Bold, Italics, and FontFormat functions to change the look of the Dynamic Text.  You can see additional examples in the Illustration webinar here: LINK

Thanks for this Jason , managed to get it working, however, the only problem I have now is, is that there is a space added to the start of the dynamic text and now this doesnt line up with the rest of the text underneath.  I cant delete it and there isnt a space added before the first word.  Is this a bug do you know?

Dan Sharman I have not seen that behavior.  Can you drop a screenshot of the "live" text and the dynamic text edit mode?  I might be able to spot something to help.

Jason Picker - you can see 'selected brokers' are indented on each example - each when the first part of the sentence is made up of 'dynamic' text.  I have found that when using font format around dynamic text or text for that matter it seems to add a space, where as before I joined strings together with a forced space at the start or end of the string I wanted to join (e.g. + " blah").

    Hi,

Dan Sharman yes, in some cases the Markup functions add a redundant space, I opened a bug for this issue. Will be fixed soon in the one of the next releases.
