Download Pyramid Discovers on a schedule to an OS folder

Hello,

Just wanted to check if there is a way we can have the discovers run automatically and land an excel file into an OS folder (Windows or a Samba file share)

    Hi  ,

    You can subscribe to a discover and create a schedule whereby the output in Excel format is automatically sent to you, but only via the Pyramid Bulletin board, email or a web channel (Slack or Teams), not to an OS folder.

    You can however, use a Discover as a data source for a Model Data Flow and have the scheduled flow output an Excel file written to an OS Folder or other file target (like FTP for example).

    Thanks Ian, that is very helpful

    I did know about the subscription options to email and webhooks, but this is an option I will give a try

    I am also exploring an option to email it to our MoveIT downloads which then automatically lands it in a folder and I can then have a MoveIT job move it to another folder

    Are there any options to do this via API or invoking Pyramid via a shell script ?

    I setup a model as above, but for some reason the file does not show up in the destination

    The progress window shows that it succeeded

    I do have rights to the folder

    Is there anything else I need to setup on the Pyramid side

    Hi 

    It is the Pyramid Server that needs rights to the folder, as well as you, the user.

    When you say Pyramid server, would that be the padmin user ?

    Hi 

    No, the identity that the Pyramid Server is running under. If you're running it on a Windows server, it will likely be the machine name on the network. From our Help:

    "The machine hosting Pyramid must have access to the shared file location. If the Pyramid services are running on different machines, the Runtime and Task Servers must be given access to the shared file location."

    Just FYI

    We basically took the windows share and mounted it as a Samba file share on the Pyramid Linux server and it worked well
