Open Linked Dashboards in a New Slide Instead of a New Tab

Hi Team,

I've built several dashboards in Pyramid and created a summary chart that lists all the dashboard names along with their respective links. This summary chart is part of a final master dashboard that acts as a central navigation point.

Currently, when I click on a dashboard link in the chart, it opens the target dashboard in a new browser tab. However, I would like to change this behavior so that clicking a link navigates to a new slide within the same dashboard presentation, instead of opening a new tab or popup.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Built the visual using custom code.
  • Configured it to open a URL on click.
  • Now looking to replace that with a slide navigation action.

Ideally, I want the user to stay within the same dashboard experience and move between slides, rather than jumping to new tabs.

Is there a way to configure this kind of interaction in Pyramid? Any suggestions or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi

I'm  a little confused. You say first off that you are calling another Dashboard, then that you want to navigate to  a slide in the same dashboard. Which is it?

If the former, you can configure the click action to open a URL in the same browser tab through the Actions panel:

If the latter, you can use the Click Action to navigate directly to  a slide number or slide name, or create an expression to resolve to a slide number of name:

    Hope that helps.

    Hi

Adding to Ian's note - you can also add an image that looks like a home to each one of the dashboards, and create an action that will load the original dashboard, thus creating the experience of staying in the same page, while in fact loading a different present.
