Table of Contents UI

Hi,

When I export a dashboard which includes a table of contents from the dynamic text feature, the contents list isn't included.  Are there any settings which need to be selected to include this? (please see attached)

For future suggestions it would be great to be able to:

- Wrap the text

- Keep the text size static/ fit to size, currently when you ctrl + Zoom in/ out, the text size changes for the table of contents, this also makes the text incredibly small/ big to view depending on the screen size aspect.  This UI doesn't happen on any other text in Pyramid. See below for different zoom aspects.

100% Zoom/ Laptop Screen

50% zoom / 30 " monitor

  Thanks,

Katie

    Hi Katie,

In order table of content to include text asset you need to mark it with Heading (1-4) .

I hope this solves your issue.

    Hi Ron,

I don't see the option to format the text in table of contents as headers. I just have these options

    Thanks

you need to put text element , focus on it and then you will see it in the ribbon:

That's not an option on a dynamic table of contents

    Hi Katie,

Please could you try the following steps:

Step 1: Select the text in your dynamic text boxes that serve as the "Table of Contents" elements.

Step 2: Select the "Text Tab" in the menu ribbon top left. Open the "Styles" menu dropdown and select Heading 1,2,3 or 4. Do this for all dynamic text objects that you want to show in your Table of Contents.

Step 3: When you print/export your Publish report, the dynamic text elements you have classified with the "Heading" style, will show in your contents menu.

Hi Calvin, I can't select the text within the table of contents box.  The 'Table of Contents' text field auto populates based on the Section headers and Slide names within the present.  There is no option to select/ amend the text within the text field.

      Thanks

Hi Katie,  I understand and you are correct.
      This is by design.
The Contents Menu is dynamically created when you export the Publication.
It is comprised of the text fields in your document which have been classified by Header style 1, 2, 3 or, 4.

As mentioned in my previous post, you need to add the Header style to the snippets of normal/dynamic text within your document. These will then be reflected in the Contents Menu when you export the document.

Just as an aside, this is exactly the way the ToC works in Microsoft Word. It is based on blocks of text defined as Headings, 1,2,3,4, etc.

The font, point size, colour etc. of the text is defined in the Headings settings. These in turn can be set in the Theme.
