How can we identify which part of a theme to change?

Wondering if there is some kind of documentation that would help me identify which part of a theme to update to have the impact I'm wanting in a Discovery. So far, my trial and error approach has been unsuccessful.

I totally agree - some more information would be very helpful :)

I did some "reverse engineering" concerning the colors that are used automatically for coloring my graph. What are you looking for?

  Florian L. Trying to identify which part of the theme to update to change the color of the text being used in the column headers. Have tried several different things but haven't found the right thing yet! Was hoping there might be some formal documentation instead of using brute force trial and error!

Nate....I agree with you as well. I have tried to tweak one of the themes to better align with our color palette and it has been super frustrating.

Hi all,
I'll try to clarify,
The Column header is the area above the column titles, for example, if you place the Hierarchy 'Products' the columns, you see the top categories 'Bikes, Components, ...'
Then on the grid tab, under 'Headers' click on the 'Show Column Header' and you'll see the header 'Product' above the columns.

In the Admin, When editing a theme and setting 'Column Header', you're actually affecting the upper part of the grid, not the column titles.

To change the Column Titles, you need to change the 'Columns' in the 'Grid' section.

But when setting colors you might not see your changes.
The reason is the Color Readability Logic that is running behind the senses and is overwriting any color settings that the user may have introduced (maybe by mistake) into the theme that may cause readability difficulties. (For example, dark blue font over a black background).
The color readability logic can be turned off for cases where the user wants to enforce his colors over the systems, (See the below image)
