Ability to make number of user inputs dynamic

Hi,

I am preparing a dashboard where a dashboard user fills in the list of products to analyze- like product 1, product 2 and so on.  Then for each product the user should enter the # of units. The issue here is there will be cases where the user has only one product to enter and cases where the user has 10-20 products to enter.  What is the best way to make this dynamic.? I want to avoid showing 20 input boxes

Ideally, I would like to give a button saying 'Add more rows' and when the user clicks on that, another row would appear for the user to enter

    Hi!
Most probably I did not get your idea correctly - but why don't you provide a "Multi Select Drop Down" as a filter for the user to make him select the products he wants to analyze?

So connected to the product names, we also have to enter the # of units , which is why multiple select wont work... Probably should have made that more clear in the question

Can you please give more details about the whole Use Case. e.g. What will be the end result of this selection and filtering. Why selecting a Product from a filter and then additionally add the Number of Products.

Sure Christian.. Users are giving the details of a bulk order placed as the input. So it will be:

      1) Product 1- 100 units

      2) Product 2- 50 units

      and so on

The # of products will vary..  In some cases, it will be 5, in other cases it will be 10

for my understanding. I would assume that the Bulk order has been placed before and is now analyzed by the Dashboard, so that the quantities should be in the records. Or are you trying to Input and write back a Bulk Order to the System?

    Hi  ,

You can use the advanced search option available in multi select slicers to enter lists of values to match to the slicer values:

Like Christian, I'm  a little confused about how the #units would be used.

    Hope that helps.
