Content Master Page | Copyright Year
We need to show a copyright year on every slide of our presentations. Currently when we create a new presentation, we add in a dynamic text that shows the year onto the Content Page:
Our team has asked whether we can incorporate the Copyright Year in our Content Page Master that is used in our Theme.
You cannot use a standard dynamic text in a Content Page Master as a dynamic text needs to be linked to a discovery.
We have tried using #Today, but #Today shows the full date and we are unable to format the date to just show the year:
Does anyone have any ideas on how to add the current year into a Content Master Page for a theme?
Thanks,
Natalie

Hi Natalie-Anne,
Yes, you can use Dynamic Text and calculations and grids on a Content Master, and hence yes, you can insert the current year. Here's an example:
I'm editing the Content Page Master and I've added a Text Block, selected Dynamic Text, selected a dummy grid, then added the following Dynamic Text expression
DateFormat(Date(),"YYYY") to generate "2024", which of course will appear as "2025" next year.
Problem solved.
Hope that helps.

Hi Ian,
Are you able to include that Content Page Master in a Theme with a dynamic text?
Thanks,

Hi Ian,
I created the below content master page with 3 text boxes:- Dynamic Text Linked to a discovery with DateFormat(Date(), "YYYY")
- Dynamic Text that is the Current Date (#Today)
- A Plain Text Box
I then selected this Content Master in the Theme:
Next I created a presentation with this theme:
The Content Master in my presentation is only pulling in the bottom 2 text boxes - The one with Current Date and Plain Text and is not showing the text box with the Dynamic Text linked to the discovery:
Did I do something incorrect in the above steps? Does your new presentation, using the theme, show the Dynamic Text linked to the Discovery in the Content Master?
Thanks,
Natalie
