Ho do I cascade from one slicer to another, and have the second slicer have all options selected by default?

We are looking at student information at our university.  I have set up a cascading slicer so that when I select a student then the second slicer populates with the courses they are taking this semester.  This Course slicer then interacts with a report that I have in my presentation so that I can see data about those courses.

Quick disclaimer: I'm using Model Mapping as some of my slicer data is coming from a different model than my report.

What I would like to do is have that Course slicer select all of the courses in the updated list by default, and have all of the courses in the list selected every time the parent slicer is updated.  The way I've set it up using multi-select buttons it'll work for the first student that is selected by the slicer defaults.  But when I change the slicer to another student it does not have all of the course buttons selected.

I've tried using other slicer types that have an 'All' option, but when I select the 'All' option in the presentation it gives me data for all of our courses, not just "all" of the courses that have been cascaded to the slicer.

Is there a way to do this?  I'm hoping so, as it would allow me to hide the Course slicer since a user would no longer need to manually select all of the courses that are showing up there.

Hi Nate, we don't support this behavior at the moment. We do plan to support this behavior in the near future. However you can do what you need with a combined slicer, this slicer type selects ALL always (See attached image).

Then use the combined slicer that you want hidden in the storyboard.

    Hope this helps.
