Filtering Power BI content in a Storyboard

Currently I am prototyping the new Power BI functionality in Pyramid. I am also pretty new to Pyramid offering.

In a storyboard, I am able to filter Power BI content using a Pyramid Slicer.

Unfortunately, when I click within a Power BI content, let say I click on a column in a column chart, then the other Power BI content on the story board is not reacting.

Do you have an suggestion(s) how to filter Power BI content within a storyboard except from using the native Pyramid Slicers? Any help or suggestions are welcome.

  • Hi Chris,

Do you mean for example that when you have added two different PowerBI reports into a Dashboard and would like that the two reports will interact with each other?(See below)

If this is the case, then this is currently not possible. As you know you would have to use a BI Office Slicer.

Please let us know if the above is not your case. Screenshots also will help us to better understand your question.

    Thank you

  • Hi Daniel,

Apologies for my late reply. Yes that is exactly what I meant, that one Power BI report interacts with another Power BI report on the same Storyboard. It's a pity that it is not supported, because this works out of the box in Power BI Desktop.

Is it possible for a native a  Pyramid report (like a Column Chart) to interact directly with another Pyramid Report (for example Pie Chart)?

    Thanks,

    Chris.

Yes, if the PBI content and the BI office content are using the same data connection, you can use the "Interact" feature from the BI Office chart to filter the PBI content, being a PBI chart or a full PBI dashboard.

In the image below, the blue bar chart (BI Office) is filtering a PBI bar chart (the one just to the right of the blue bar chart) and a PBI dashboard / sheet (the bigger placeholder to the right):

So that leaves you two options, using the Slicers and also using the BI Office charts to filter the PBI content in the Story Board.
