Forecasting in BI Office with R

We see that there are a bunch of new R based advanced analytic functions in BI Office 6.

So far, we are working through the usage of the forecasting tools. Although they all produce interesting predictions of future periods - we are still hazy as to the differences between the algorithms.

Online help mentions "Holt Winters" as the logic for standard forecasting - it looks pretty good so far. But we are wondering what others users have deployed with R as alternative algorithms.

  • We are happy you find the R integration with BI office useful.

There are many forecasting algorithms, in fact in BI Office we use   "Holt Winters" and other  algorithms as well.

Of course you could always find and add additional R packages, examples:

http://www.statmethods.net/advstats/timeseries.html , upload them into BI Office via the Pyramid Admin and allow the users access via the UI and wizards.

The unique approach of BI Office is to provide the business users with the power of R with out the need to pay the cost of learning R. As we expose the functionality via a point and click wizard.
