GIS engine change following discontinued Bing Maps Silverlight Control
Geospatial upgrades BI Office Versions 5.6 and 6.3
On November 30, 2016, Microsoft is deprecating key Bing mapping functionality, the primary source of geospatial data found in BI Office.
In September 2016, Pyramid will replace this with mapping functionality from Esri, the world’s largest and most respected provider of geospatial data. There is no additional charge for this update.
To access this functionality, all BI Office customers will need to upgrade to Version 5.6 or Version 6.3. Mapping functionality will not work properly in older versions of BI Office.
Please review the following table to determine your migration path.
The upgrade to Version 6.3 brings other added new functionality and bug fixes. We strongly advise all customers to update to the latest version to take advantage of the functionality. Best practices for BI Office upgrades can be found at https://community.pyramidanalytics.com/t/k96kqw.
Stay tuned for further details and please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions regarding the upgrade.
