Intermittent Basic Authentication Prompts (Applies to Versions 5.4 SP1 and Older)
- Pyramid is using Windows authentication and “Support Effective tokens” is not in use.
- Users experience intermittent pop-ups and the Kerberos configuration has been followed (Guide 14) and verified,
- There may be an issue with Kerberos on the static content of the Pyramid website.
- Changes to be made on IIS
Change the authentication on both the “bin” and “Components” folders to be Anonymous Authentication and disable Windows Authentication and ASP.NET Impersonation.
If the Pyramid version is 5.3 SP2 or below, also change the authentication on the “Images” folder to be Anonymous while disabling all other authentication types.
To verify that this fix does apply to your specific situation Fiddler* should be run on the client machine, which will show on which Pyramid components authentication is failing.
