Integrating Pyramid Analytics with Other Content

by John Hormaechea , Director of Product Marketing, Pyramid Analytics

Customers often have questions on how to integrate BI Office within other containers. This blog post will provide both written and video information on various integration options.

Integrate Pyramid Analytics with other content - Custom Visuals

Pyramid Analytics provides a wide range of data-driven visualizations. However, there are scenarios where the creation of custom visuals driven by Pyramid-supplied data is required.

In order to accommodate such scenarios, we have introduced a process that enables our customers to create their own data-driven custom visuals via Pyramid’s API. This enables our customers to further utilize the BI Office platform to best meet their business needs.

Integrate Pyramid Analytics with other content - Portal Integration

BI Office is a URL addressable, web-based application. That allows for easier integration into a variety of portals products. Review the video below to see how this can be done in SharePoint. You can also review the attachment to understand all the options, including the SharePoint Web Part for BI Office.

Integrate Pyramid Analytics with other content - Embedding Content

BI Office Web Services expose different capabilities of the main application. These capabilities are generally limited to administration tasks and in most are equivalent to the capabilities which can be found in the Pyramid Admin web site. There are several key functions related to launching queries, extracting results and changing the query syntax. This could include a custom web page that can select multiple views, the ability to integrate custom filters and parameters, and adding new content such as calculations.

Review the video below to see some sample customizations of what can be done with Pyramid Analytics. To review the complete Web API documentation, please go to the customer portal at https://www.pyramidanalytics.com/pages/portal/downloads.aspx. If you do not have access to the portal, please email support@pyramidanalytics.com.
